Privacy
Orbis has no accounts, no advertising and no tracking cookies. We do not build profiles of the people who use it. One cookie remembers the language you chose.
What our servers see. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived request logs (IP address, page, time) to keep the service running and safe. When you search for something the atlas does not know, the search text is sent through our server to Photon, a geocoder built on OpenStreetMap, without anything that identifies you.
Ask Orbis. Questions you type into the assistant are sent to Anthropic’s Claude to write the answer, together with what the globe is showing. They are not used to identify you.
Weather and places. When you open the weather or a place, your browser loads forecasts from Open-Meteo, radar from RainViewer, lightning from Blitzortung.org and summaries from Wikipedia and Wikidata, each covered by its own privacy policy. Your location is only used if you press the location button, and it stays in your browser.
Links you share contain only the map, place and view you chose.
